播种养护，种子放土上稍微盖土，保持土壤干湿均匀，一星期可发芽，切花品种比较耐寒，零下六七度稍微保暖可过冬，矮生盆栽品种不耐寒，耐最低温度不能低于零下4度，低于零下4度死亡，还要注意土壤湿度，紫罗兰耐旱不耐湿，根部属肉质根。开花期有香味。八月初播种，次年3月八日开花
