Plant Experience
Detail
Grow savory in rich, light, well-draining soil in full sun around the same time as the average last frost date in early spring. Water periodically, but once established, savory prefers drier soil. Summer savory grows extremely quickly, with small pink or purple flowers at the end of the season. Cut leaves and stems for fresh usage as needed. To preserve dried leaves, cut stems and hang dry just as the savory starts to flower.
